At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a Teku glass. From The Roundhouse Centre LCBO on Howard Ave. in nearby Windsor. Canned March 10/26. My 20th beer from the Kingston, Ontario brewery, and 6th for 2026. Regarded proudly by Gracie the cat...

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A scant one finger head on a very hazy lemon. The head soon diminishes to a layer. Some thin lacing.
Fruity pith smells.
Tastes faintly of lemon and grapefruit. A bit thin overall. A very restrained hop bitterness in the finish.
A medium light body with moderate carbonation.
A refreshing light American IPA

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Apr 25 2024 and served barely chilled. Labelled as Fixie Citra IPA, but I think it's fair to assume I'm putting this in the correct place.
Pours a relatively clear golden blonde colour, its complexion fogged up with plenty of silty sediment. Just over an inch of loose, bubbly white head is situated atop, collapsing within ninety seconds; it tosses a few strands of sticky lace about in its wake, with a frothy collar lasting on the surface. The aroma is prototypical Citra - grapefruit, lemon and lime, with suggestions of melon and gooseberry - not bad for such a light ale.
The flavours are light, but otherwise similar to the nose. I'm getting a hint of gritty, grainy, wheaty malts in the background, with lemon and grapefruit flavours dominating the profile. Not a lot else going on: maybe a touch of passion fruit, with a kiss of lime zest at the finish; finishes pithy and citrusy, fading into a rather dry aftertaste. Restrained bitterness, even for a session IPA. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation that loses a lot of its steam by the middle of the session - crisp and lively at first, but kind of thin and watery later on. On the plus side, it's really refreshing, with superb drinkability.
Final Grade: 3.82, a B+. Fixie Citra IPA isn't a beer to write home about, but I do think it does the Citra hops justice - and that's at least mildly impressive coming from a session IPA. I think this has real potential as a summer session option; the alcohol is so low that you could plausibly toss a couple of these back during a round of golf and be no worse for wear. Surprisingly good, and easily one of the better session IPAs I've reviewed in recent memory - I say give 'er a go.
