another real cool beer from these guys, this one a little more experimental than their german stuff i had in the same session. this is a terpene beer, not sure if they use weed terpenes, but i think they do! pretty heady. either way, the terps and the hops sing the same song in this one, and its a very fresh, dank, and aromatic ipa with dangerous drinkability. its maybe a little more raw, less refined than their others, but that makes sense in something as new and ambitious as this. definite grape candy sort of weed notes to this, like a purple hairy sativa bag. there is some citrus too here, an obvious sort of new wave dry hop profile, juicy and punchy, mango and lemongrass and pineapple essences all in the mix. there is no bitterness at all here, and i think the beer never really quite finishes as a result of that, but i dont mind, its a nice slow fade and tastes super fresh and interesting to me. i love weed, but i love beer more, and dont necessarily feel a high need to drink weed or its flavors, but here the compatibility with the hops is obvious, and i think they really have something here. i know these arent the only guys doing something like this, but the execution is really there with this one. clever, distinctive, weedy, and good. nice job with a tricky ingredient! how does utah law feel about weed terps these days?
