Bottle at share. Near black pour, thin beige head. Rich roasty aroma with coconut, vanilla, nutty. Taste is sweet, chocolate, coconut, Hazelnut. Thick, slick.

Super thick stout, brimming with loads of banana and chocolate. I’d say it was like liquid chocolate chip banana bread. One of my favorite adjunct ba stouts from TF.

super weird one from these guys, well outside of what we all know and love them for, so a strange one indeed, shared for my birthday by my brother in law. i have to say, why is banana always in huge stouts, id love to see it in a cream ale or something lighter, but nobody ever does that. this is aged in high west bourbon barrels with coconut, hazelnut, and banana, a cool combination of ingredients but for me this didnt quite hit. its insanely viscous, leggy and dense in the glass, high shine but like a syrup texture, intimidating. the nose is chocolate forward from the grain, sugary sweet and almost artificial on the banana, the hazelnut is integrated pretty well, fits in with all the malt layers, and the coconut has some toasted warmth and sweetness of its own, but its the intense banana notes that stand above everything else for me, even the enormous base beer. some booziness present here too as it warms up. the taste is heavy, over flavored, and unnatural to me no matter whether they use real ingredients or not, the intensity makes it so. bananas foster sweetness, deep chocolate from the grain, vanilla from the whiskey, and the coconut, which to me is the most natural. the hazelnut might be lost a little to some of the other elements, but its still there in the middle of this, i like this part a lot, earthy and grounding and balancing against some of the fruity and chocolatey decadence. this is just too much, its palate coasting and still absurdly sweet, neat idea and a cool mix of elements to be sure, but this is not enjoyable beer to drink more than a couple ounces of, its hotly alcoholic, and for me did not live up to the very high expectations i have for templin family beers, all of which have been incredible until now. i appreciate the ambition, and there are cool parts to this, but as a whole it was a bit of a miss for me...
