sexy packaging, cool beer, the base is excellent, this is my second from this series. there is nice funk to this, modest tang, plenty of grain character including texture, its well carbonated, exciting on the palate, and the added ingredients are lovely with the oak this has, chamomile to me in front of the others, but they weave together well and each certainly contribute. maybe not the prettiest pour, some murk to this, and it kind of looks like it was once a little more pink than it is now, like some color fade has taken place, kind of rusty orange with some starchiness, could perhaps look and be more delicate than it is, but its on the stronger side for what it is, and nothing really seems out of place, just a tad less refined overall than would be ideal. the nose is lightly tangy, some white wine and oak for sure, then the bitter chamomile, a light pithy and floral thing from the rose and hibiscus together, hints of cranberry, hearts of palm, and almost ripe raspberry. i also get some cool funk to this, a sort of saison ester, and trace white pepper spice than presents more as this warms. the flavor is also quite compelling, its grainy yes, wheat to me, somewhat raw, but beyond that the fruitiness is cool, white currant, white florals, and the juicy almost lemonade side of the hibiscus, super compatible with this fermentation profile, great funk as it warms. lovely herbal vibes overall, and i think a quite clever mix of ingredients in this. amazing just how many types of beers these guys do well, one of the best in the region despite so little fanfare outside of their home market, one of my favorites for sure. curious where this series is headed next!
