really dry, frothy from the nitro, and pleasing, drinkable as they come, really technically masterful, and i think these guys would be a standout in far more beery cities like portland and san francisco, like their beers could play in any market, and the people of utah are lucky to have them. this really is expert. seriously looks like a guinness, with that unform matte purity approaching black in low light, more than an inch of perfect nitro foam in the cream range, sexy lace as it drinks, absolutely textbook, inviting and intoxicating, mysterious, dialed in. aroma is subtle, roasty without being bitter or intense at all, but it stands out in the absence of a richer malt center, love the simplicity here, subtle european yeast character, baking chocolate, and proofing dough, good minerality, light on the hops for sure, breakfasty in some sense, maybe a coffee note doing that. the flavor is similar but a little more robust, roast driven, uniquely fresh in this style space, subtle espresso, wet fertile soil, dry already spent coffee grounds, somewhat irish to me, thinking guinness in part because of how it feels, the low alcohol is nice too, quicker finish for it being as creamy overall as it is, light bitterness late, dark chocolate, and a tidy tightness that i really like. perfect nitrogenation. great beer for the st pattys day season coming up here!
