the truth is, when i think about this awesome brewery, i dont think about hoppy beer, i think about their impressive lager game or the large format bottles of weird fermenty beer, i dont think about ipa, but i should, because theirs slap, and this is another hazy banger, man they are good at everything here! very thick and very hazy, but hyper modern on the hops and not poorly refined, not at all, done with anchovy, strata, and motueka, heady! orange tinted and frothy looking, no particulate in it, but this is on the edge of being a murk bomb in the truest sense, not yucky, just hazy as can be. the aroma is so fresh and so much lighter than this looks, pungent green herbal notes with zested meyer lemon and clementine, overripe melon, orange tic tacs, sauvignon blanc, and lemongrass, so juicy and brand new, highly saturated and early starting but without being forced, its insane. the mix of hops is lit in the flavor, orangey and tropical without being cloying, although this isnt dry either, seems thiol forward and majorly modern, and i like what the starch brings, oats and maybe raw wheat in here i would think, pink grapefruit, cantaloupe, elderflower liqueur, ripe mango and apricot, summery but not that light overall, lovely hoppy aftertaste, some light pine to it, gasoline, new tennis ball, and hot pavement, but all seemingly hop derived and flattering to the fruitiness. the yeast is pretty neutral to me, everything is behind the hops and subservient to them, anchovy is a nice touch here, a cool and somewhat unsung varietal even still. any hazy fan should consider themselves lucky to be drinking one of these, its exceptional.
