fabulous german pils here from these guys, who do lagers as well as anyone out there, this is so light and easy, refreshing but with a lot of character from all the elements, yet delicate too, perfect on the side pull at the source, lucky me! it doesnt get much prettier than this. real light blonde sort of straw colored liquid, light in body and saturation, nearly pristine clarity and a tall couple of inches of white head rising well above the rim of the glass, consistently excited carbonation the whole drink, which isnt long, this is a ripper! aroma and flavor with great balance, lightness, and tradition, attention to detail, and overall tidiness, hops are grassy and bitter in the right amount and in the right moment, the grain is interesting a little bit, maybe floor malted, old worldy and with subtle floral, cereal, and even doughy aspects to it, did they decoct this? great minerality and overall water chemistry enhancing that too, and a very recognizable lager yeast here, but so well deployed it almost seems unique, if that makes sense, this is fresh and also dry and mature, and its well conditioned, beautifully poured, and a treat for the senses. there is a very light body, made leaner by some right before the swallow astringency, faintly tannic there and it makes it quick, a little odd, but its only a second, then a bubbly quenching finish with the hops, so good. templin has these downright dialed, and this is one of their best in this style space to date, a good candidate for cans if you ask me! gorgeously crafted, bravo!
