Excellent head production and OK retention. Body is crystal clear, a light, straw-like hue, and very lively.
Fairly aromatic, with notes of light citrus, honey, cracker, hay, and white dough. Nothing amiss.
Surprisingly thick on the palate, leaning heavily toward sweetness instead of the hops - however, not in the cloying, artificial, corny way of AALs. Honey and white bread lead the way; citrus and pine are very much in the background by comparison. Not a lot of grass or spice.
This is a really interesting beer. It's not the most complex lager on either the nose or the palate, but it's really very pleasant on both counts - yet, in different ways. It smells brighter and fresher, drinks sweeter and thicker, but both in a good way.
