West Coast IPA: Slightly hazy with subtle malt flavor of toasted white bread and caramel. Chinook hops give a smooth bitterness with some pine. Late addition of Amarillo, Chinook, Azacca, and Mosaic give aromas of pine needles, fresh cut flowers, and citrus. This is our year-round "house" IPA.

Poured from 16oz can into my 8th Wonder chalice. Canned 10/16/25. This batch clocks in at 7% ABV.
Appearance: medium golden hue with just a dash of haze and a thick head of pillowy ivory foam.
Smell: sweet-ish malt with an earthy, herbal character, and notes of grapefruit rind. Not too bad.
Taste: a bit sweeter than the aroma suggests, with a flavor that continues the dry-grass, herbal character from the aroma. There's a grapefruit rind character here it is a lot more pithy than juicy. Bitterness is quite high relative to sweetness. It's ... actually pretty good, although I think for different reasons than I usually like west coast IPAs.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: actually a pretty good WCIPA. It's probably not for everyone, but if you like that herbal, bitter, pithy character of a moder Westy, I think you'll dig this.

16oz canned on 11/8/22 and served in a stemless wine glass. Beer is hazy orange amber with a thick white head. Mild, juicy aroma. Flavor brings more classic alpha American IPA bitterness but provides a robust citrus flavor which is really nice. I thought this might have been an NE IPA based on the cloudy appearance, but this is definitely an oldschool West coastIPA with a great citrus bite.

Thanks to Justin for this one. 16oz can (dated 11/9/22) poured into The Tulip of Doom (my 16oz La Fin du Monde Tulip). Poured a murky and muddy dark orange color with less than a quarter-inch of white head that had minimal retention and lacing.
The aroma had a solid, but soft, grain base, with a lot of bold, citrus hops on top. Similar on the tongue, but there was an annoying amount of astringency at the back end that detracted from the beer. The body was fairly typical, maybe a touch fuller than medium, had a pleasing coarseness, and a semi-dry finish. Drinkability was good, except for the astringency noted above.
Overall, an OK brew, prolly worth trying if you see it.

Gorgeous can art. Pours a golden amber with a thick head, lots of tropical fruit and a hint of pine. Solid malt base, substantial mouthfeel. Tasting hop flavor from the Chinook and Mosaic hops with a touch of sweetness from the wheat. Clean finish, no flaws. A very solid WCIPA.
