Double raspberry wild ale aged in oak barrels with raspberries. Spontaneous beer aged 2 years.
As we iterate on beer variations, we release them as numbers. Once we nail down a particular style, we name them. Today we canned Wild American Margot, named in memory of our co-founder’s mother. The label art was based on photos Margot took near her home in Morgan Hill. A vibrant and truly wild American, Margot was a woman with a deep appreciation of beauty. Her spirit reminds us to enjoy the ordinary and extraordinary beauty around us. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to support pancreatic cancer research. Blended in collaboration with Woodhouse Blending & Brewing. Label art by Jessica Johnson, label design by Keith Soergel.

Deep, clear, purplish-red body with a nice pinkish head. Strong raspberry aroma; cranberry. The taste boldly reinforces the aroma; sweet raspberry and cranberry juice; intense sourness. Medium-heavy body; sharp and very acidic; slight, wheat-like smoothness near the finish.
This wouldn't be a go-to beer for me, but there is no denying the incredible raspberry character of this beer. Bold and powerful, very fresh smelling and tasting.
Poured at 47 °F; canning data: no dating information, but bottom of can has "CAN CONDITION LIVE PRODUCT" printed on it.

Poured from can at fridge temp. Pours a beautiful reddish purple with minimal head. Nose immediately bursts with fresh raspberries. Tart, sour, and malty. Lemon and a touch of wood also come through. The taste is incredible. Very sour out of the gate. Wow! Raspberries- very fresh and crisp. This is easily on par with some of the big hitters from Belgium. Wood, a bit of leather, funk. and tart. A slightly bitter fruit peel on the aftertaste. Overall, a wonderfully constructed wild ale. Love it!

A: The beer is hazy reddish purple in color. It poured with just a narrow collar of off white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of raspberry juice are present in the nose along with hints of oak.
T: The taste follows the smell and has lots of berry flavors with accompanying hints of oak. There is a light amount of sourness.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied and tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn't really that sour and doesn't seem to have any "funky" aromas or flavors. Instead, it focuses on the raspberries and is easy to drink, having some refreshing properties.
