Dark, reddish brown body, mahogany; thick and lasting khaki head, sudsy. Smells of cider and sherry; dried oak. Outstanding taste; orange and sea salt are prevalent; black cherry; mildly sour and tart; a hard to describe earthiness lingers far in the background. Medium body; soft and velvety on the palate; acidic; citrus tang and juiciness.
This is a well-produced wild ale. The judicious use of sea salt nicely offsets the wild / sour character of the beer.
Poured at 64° F; no dating info except for the front label (VINTAGE 2020) and the bottom of the can reads: CAN CONDITION LIVE PRODUCT

A: The beer is essentially jet black in color. It poured with a minuscule collar of off white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of oak and cherries are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of Cara Cara oranges with notes of sourness and hints of vinegar-like acidity.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a bit smooth and tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The looks of this beer are very deceptive as it looks like a stout or a dark ale but is actually a dark sour.
Serving type: can
