Notes:
This is the first time our Sour Dark Ale, Side Saddle has been bottled. This version was aged in whiskey barrels for over two years with an addition of coconut and fresh orange peel.

375 ml bottle, no dating on it that I noticed but I'm pretty sure it was a June 2020 release. Served in a AOH chalice, the beer pours a dark brown color with a bit of a reddish tinge, along with about a half inch light tan head that didn't stick around for long. Small amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like orange peel, whiskey, oak, dark fruit, and some coconut. Taste is similar to the aroma, with orange peel, orange, whiskey, vanilla, oak, coconut, cherry, plum, and a bit of chocolate. Recommend letting this one warm up as the flavors really come out once it does. It's sour but not close to being overpoweringly so. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick, easy to drink and has a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was an enjoyable sour, definitely worth trying if you get the chance to!
