wonderful blended saison here, delicate and very well refined, attractive packaging, light to drink, dialed in, very original. its aged long in bordeaux barrels and then has some fresh saison blended in, so you get long woody maturity here with some rustic funkiness and mellowness, and then the bright sprightly new beer in the mix, floral and even kind of hoppy and herbal, a neat combination, great proportions too. its elegant looking yellow beer with a light haze about it and a moderate white head from the can with lots of rising bubbles. the nose is dried flowers, berries and red wine, musty old oak, french type saison yeast, white wheat malt, and a little bit of white and black peppercorn spiciness, cool mix, somehow delicate for being old and woody, the new saison in the blend is key. great dry hop profile in the taste, lemongrass and meyer lemon and maybe elderflower combine real well with the leftover wine fruitiness, blackberries lead there, but some oak and tannins too, light oxidation in the old beer, a belgian waft from the new beer, spring meadow vibes, warm sunshine, chirping birds. nice carbonation here, a delicate mouthfeel, the low alcohol with all this complexity is awesome too, and it finishes super dry after having some fruity sweetness earlier on, faint hop bitterness too at the end helps it finish decisively. awesome beer overall, i was super impressed with all the wilderness beers we got to drink, they really are setting the standard over there right now. not sure what this cost, but in the states something like this would be in a 15 or 20 dollar little bottle, neat to see it in what i assume was a reasonable pint can.
