I strong pour was needed to reach a finger of creamy/soapy beige foam with many large bubbles, short retention and no lasting lace. Clear copper-amber color, a little chill haze at first.
Mild smell of bready malt, and caramel, very faint floral hops.
Semi-sweet with low bitterness, mild taste of malt. Caramel malt sweetness is in the lead ahead of toasted bread and roasted nuts. There are some baked apple and toasted wheat flavors but it's not grainy. Hop flavor is mild yet balancing. The finish is long and malty, the aftertaste lingers on with bitterness rising to a spicy average.
Medium-full body, a little slick with soft and lasting carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden yet a bit low for the style.
This could pass for a Marzen, a bit light on ABV, smell and taste for a Bock but still enjoyable and session-able.

Is it a bock? Or an festbier? Who knows? Better yet, who cares?!?! I thought this sounded interesting and these guys are very local to me so I figured I would pick up a can to try
Pours a deep reddish amber with a finger of light brown head that very quickly fades to nothing and leaves no lacing
The aroma is sweet and malty, but balanced by a subtle spicyness. I get notes of red malt, dark bread, toffee, and peppery hops. Everything is a bit muted unfortunately
The taste starts off with notes of toast, semisweet malt, and earthy hops. The swallow sweetens things up a bit, really bringing it into marzen territory with caramel sweetness, dark bread, and a touch of corn strangely enough
A medium body pairs with subtle carbonation for a very smooth beer, though it feels a bit heavy for both the style and the abv. Still, it finishes with a solid dryness that keeps me coming back for another sip
While this is by no means incredible, I still think it was a solid beer. An interesting amalgamation of styles, though it was more of a fest/marzen. Good, but likely not worthy of another shot

The head is extraordinarily brief, falling to zero bubbles quickly. No lace. The liquid is beautiful—clear and deep amber/light brown color
The metallic nose detracts from darker caramel semisweet smell.
This starts with a sweeter biscuit flavor. Full bodied for the style with a moderate carbonation. The aftertaste is brief and similar to toasted bread. The hop is nearly missing, but the beer is balanced nicely.
