Poured from a fresh can into a shaker glass. It is a slightly hazy, bright amber-orange color with almost a finger cap of creamy, milk-white foam and thick, soapy lacing. The smell is primarily malty and earthy with nice pine needle and citrus notes. Its taste opens with a strong base of sweet, earthy malt. But the hops add much more: there are hints of grapefruit, tangerine and spice from the Amarillo, Cascade, and Columbus, berry from the Simcoe, pine sap from the Centennial. As it warms the flavors become more complex. The mouth feel is well-bodied and creamy with pleasant carbonation, and despite the 8.2% ABV it is very drinkable. Overall, this is a very solid DIPA. I'm glad I bought cans and will continue to do so when available.
