ESB made with leftover bread from Niedlovs Bakery. We partnered with Greenspaces Chattanooga, TDEC, and Niedlovs to help raise awareness for food waste by repurposing bread.

Had Extra Special Bread at Naked River, Chattanooga, on draft into (allegedly) pint tumbler.
Pours light amber with clarity and 1/2-finger off-white to very-light-tan head, with good retention, leaving splotchy lace down the glass. Aroma of grassy hops and some stone fruit off pour, turning a little bready and malty as warms. Begins sweet and fruity, with mild carbonation, then a little bready presence leads into a nice creamy, fruity and crisp finish.
Fruitier and less malty than typical for an ESB, and a nice nod toward the style, but too idiosyncratic to be sessionable, even if the actual old bread character is minimal. Goes well with fried pork rinds.
