Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. I can't believe a stranger is a long awaited friend.
Opaque but not totally turbid, with an interesting quite dark amber yellow color. Fairly good shine surprisingly, with just enoug to see a little bit of rising carbonation. Head is creamy topped, off white easily making three to four fingers in height. Spoonful thick lather and dollop lacing all along the sides.
Hop forward as to be expected, but with a touch of diversity. Lemon bright citrus tones with matching tropical fruit, and some small dank pungency. Touches a little bit of pickle brine also. Quite a bit of complexity and variation which is a neat change.
Palate is quite interesting. Controlled bitterness, some hinting zesty citrus oils mixing with a more earth and muddy pungent flavor. Creamy mixing bitterness with green herbs and soft faint mint sweetness. First finish is a bit astringent, but subsequent ones are easily tolerable and very enjoyable giving to more vanilla cream quailty and even a touch mint and lime.
Very unique IPA and quite tasty.
