A delicious tribute to the season, but with a twist. Healthy doses of baked pumpkin, brown sugar, candied ginger, Saigon cinnamon and fresh ground nutmeg are intertwined with a silky smooth Oatmeal Porter base.

Finished off a 6-pack of 12oz cans (NO date noted): I've extended my pumpkin ale season through Thanksgiving by going dark. This pumpkin porter follows a pumpkin brown (The Fear) and a pumpkin stout (Warlock)

A cloudy, deep copper hue sports a small beige head with sparce lacing. Cinnamon comes on strong in the aroma followed closely by brown sugar and ginger. The pumpkin doesn't seem to register, however. All that sweetness and spice sticks around in the taste. Decently carbonated, full-to-medium bodied mouthfeel. Still trying to figure out how this fits in as an Imperial Porter. Overall, it's a fairly good sipper particularly when paired with a good meal. But you need to like those seasonal spices.

On tap at the brewery in Frederick.
Appearance. Lovely, clear orange-amber colored body with a good off-white head.
Strong, sweet aroma with pumpkin pie and vanilla notes. While the aroma suggests this will be too sweet and, perhaps, over spiced, it is neither, assuming you are prepared for a spiced porter.
