We collaborated with Magnolia Meadow Farms, using a variety of their locally grown pumpkins on this version of our seasonal porter, Off Your Gourd. To step it up a notch we let it age in George T Stagg and George T Stagg JR bourbon barrels for a full year. Notes of chocolate and molasses are complemented by the warmth of bourbon-infused oak. The subtle infusion of spices lends a seasonal twist leaving a smooth finish.

Had on tap at Frisco Taphouse in Gambrills, MD. This is less dark than I was expecting for a porter, with a good amount of sweetness, moderate levels of pumpkin spice, and noticeable booze. Vanilla, oak, and bourbon are all in play, along with caramel sweetness. Solid.

On nitro tap at the brewery in Frederick.
Appearance. Essentially opaque body with a disappointing, especially for a nitro pour, off-white head.
Spicy and boozy, with notes of pumpkin pie, cinnamon, bourbon soaked oak and vanilla. While the aroma suggests this will be too sweet, I found it to be pleasantly sweet. The spicing is less prominent than in their non-barrel-aged version. High ABV is well hidden in the feel and taste. The flavor seemed less harmonious than expected.
