Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Pale amber body, somewhat opaque with haze but not turbid. Quite a bit of varying color, darker chestnut brown towards the top, with dark and lighter lemon yellows throughout. Creamy topped white head, some fine bubbles and a big white three finger tall presence off the pour. Big clumpy lacing also as it settles.
Aroma is a kind of candy like herbality and mild sense of hop sweetness. Quite spicy and almost medicinal in a way, kind of hinting baby aspirin. Grass and some orange zest mix it up as well for some nicer pleasantries on the nose.
Palate seems to keep it basic. Quite a bit of astringency here but tolerable with some decent flavor. Sharp grass like flavors, and oily pith and citrus zest really push forward. Hints almost creamy, but doesn't quite get there. Mid palate hits of grass and citrus, with a bitter candy and maybe even melon rind quality.
There's some somewhat harsh flavor in here, but tolerable and at least pleasant enough to warrant drinking more.
