Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Perfectly formed fine tan light bubbled head, of a solid three fingers in height. Body color is a reddish black walnut color, with lots of faint carbonation as well. Rich creamy top, and an appearance that looks incredibly inviting.
Mild sense of light cocoa powder on the nose. Aroma doesn't come off that hop forward either, slight hints of orange citrus, maybe even a little marmalade, but a very good malt backbone hints at a decent flavor possibly coming.
Palate seems to get the goods delivered. Not a bursting hop flavor, but the hops do transpire. Light sensing orange and bitter pith citrus quality in the mid palate. Hits with oily bitterness, but countered with a light sweet malt cocoa quality to make for excellent balance. That cocoa quality continues, giving to some real nice dryness that makes for a good pleasurable experience.
Nothing crazy mind blowing here, but a pretty solid brew.
