18oz glass at the brewpub, during, what we shall call going forward, 'happy hour'...
This beer appears a hazy, medium bronzed amber colour, with one finger of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly dirty white head, which leaves a bit of mitochondrial lace around the glass as it quickly abates.
It smells of grainy and crackery cereal malt, spoiled butter, some edgy old-school yeastiness, and very tame leafy, weedy, and herbal green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and bready caramel malt, banana chips, dead yeast cells, black pepper spice, and more well-understated earthy, musty, and floral hoppiness.
The carbonation is average in its palate-tending frothiness, the body a so-so medium weight, and essentially smooth, with just a touch of yeasty and/or spicy intrangency making a bit of fuss here. It finishes trending dry, with nothing else else to offer here, I'm afraid to say.
Overall - this comes across as a decent enough iteration of the style, with a deft reference to the well-known joke around here, concerning the road and driving conditions, year-round.
