This was one of a series of beers that I picked up at the Total Wine in Vero Beach, Florida late last year. Never reviewed anything from American Icon before, as this turned out to be a typical, serviceable American Blonde that was quite easygoing from start to finish.
No surprise that this poured blonde as it was a bit waxy in appearance, without being cloudy. Plenty of bubbles topped this off as the suds took quite a while to settle down but once they did, there wasn't much of any lacing left behind. Lots of malt and bread in the muted nose as the taste had some floral notes, deep orange, straw, and grass. This was a bit heavier than I pictured, as it was hard like mineral water and a bit more cloying in the back than I would have liked. The carbonation could have been a bit more prevalent to take the edge off but as it was, this was still accessible as I would have popped open another after finishing this off, had I bought more than one can!
It was nearly impossible to detect any alcohol in here as this was a pure session beer. Dated with what looked to be 5/23 of last year, I had never seen that on the bottom of the label instead of the bottom of the can. This held up well but as it was, it needed a bit of tinkering to stand out from the rest of the pack. Drink this to kick back with mindlessly, if for no other reason...

A: The beer is hazy pale yellow in color - too hazy to see if there is any visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly died down and left a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of biscuit and pale malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of mineral water along with a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a bit crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink but nothing in the smell or taste makes this stand out compared to other Blonde Ales.
