This beer boasts a huge amount of honey added to the kettle. The incorporation of jalapenos help pull this beer together with a lovely balance of spicy and flavorful, while still sweet. Two worlds collide in harmony.

Can pour - very deep color, almost like a brown ale. Pepper notes on the nose that translate nicely to the palate. Not too spicy, not too bland.

Note: the most recent batch included habanero peppers which moved the heat up front, increased it a bit, and added a little fruit note to the beer.
On tap at brewery:
A deep amber beer is placed before me at the taproom bar, with a whisper of a head and a medium collar of white foam. Through a slight chill haze, bubbles continue to be freed from their liquid prison.
Revisit: it’s leaning more like a lighter brown ale color.
A slow swirl leaves a little bit of the white on the glass, but it slips back. The aromas from the swirl are heavy with pepper flesh - green pepper with a shadow of that specific jalapeño spicy note. There’s a slightly sweet impression that mostly gets beaten back, yet some sneaks through: honey, caramel, and floral flirtations.
Revisit: little more honey and pop of jalapeño
A clean, nearing watery but it a way that isn’t diluting. A hint of honey and the slight tang it can produce for me hit up front. A toasted biscuit with a hint of honey and orange marmalade is but a fleeting impression. The pepper that ruled the nose with an iron fist is more benevolent on the palate. It still makes up a major portion of the taste, but seems to share better.
Revisit: honey a little more prevalent with its sweetness, pepper pops with flesh and a little late and light sting.
Every time I think I might be getting a little sting from the peppers, it subsides quickly. I wish there was some bite - even if it took time to grow. That in itself could knock the feel up a couple notches for me. I’d also maybe like a little bit of a vegetal bitterness in back to bring it all home. Tasty, but a bit tame in a style where I’d like a little more aggression.
Revisit: the malt leans a tad towards a brown, but the flavors are fresh and crisp. The beer did just go back on tap yesterday, so freshness may be key.
