Crowlered can, day after fill:
Mostly flat-looking, which filling may have helped cause. Giving benefit of doubt that the near-black liquid has better head usually (I sort of saw it as it was being filled).
Nose resembles a chocolate cake donut to me. Roasted malt in chocolate guise, vanilla, coffee deeper in the background. The coffee steps up in the taste, where a coffee astringent roasted flavor starts things off. A more palatable coffee flavor follows, with some vanilla and chocolate. The base style comes to me finally at the end.
Fairly dry overall and not as flat as the looks portray, but not as carbonated as I’d like (again, a little benefit on the rating here). Having a fresh pour of this beer in house might yield a couple tenths higher rating, at most. A fair flavored lower-ABV stout.
