Machine Stout

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa and a touch of coffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, cocoa and drip coffee. Lingering coffee and chocolate finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. As expected from a collaboration, this has a lot of English character. It has a profile somewhere between an straight and a dry English stout. Starts very much like the latter, but the flavor builds into a really likeable, lingering coffee and chocolate finish. Decent flavor for its ABV, but outstanding in the finish. I don't sit down with session stout much, but this one seems like a winning one.
