For a lot of the foods and lunches I eat, Light Lagers are a decent accompaniment. Tonight, it was Chinese Sichuan green beans and tofu vegetables, representing that kitchen well. In that light, High Light is a good light.
High Light opens with only slightly above average Looks for a sickly-looking style. Smells are mostly sweet malt. Sweet Tastes are balanced by the hops; and yet, a certain sweetness persists that goes well with these salty foods. Besides, the Chinese drink lots of Lights and Adjuncts. So this pairing makes more sense than not. Medium-mouthed in, obviously, a light style.
As for my award of good Overall Hugs to Tripping Animals, that is for their prolific portfolio on BA. Impressive for a seven year old. They also seem to be doing all the Good Guy things in a state that needs more Good Guys. Tripping Animals also is collaborating on High Light with LA's Highland Park Brewery. I could have High Light again, but it is not easy to find in northern California.
