One of our favorite beers to make and drink. Amazing golden raspberries sourced from Sterino Farms, put on a blend of several years of oaked ale.

L: bright cloudy yellow/orange. Super carbonated, white fuzzy head fades quickly
S: big sourness and sweet raspberries.
T: oh yeah, very good. The sourness is mild compared to the nose. Front-middle-end the raspberry are nicely present but not exploding.
F: so smooth and easy drinking. This is fantastically drinkable and the flavors linger on and on.

Batch 2, poured from 375 ml bottle.

Appearance. Pours a lovely golden yellow, opaque but not cloudy. There's a wipsy ring of white head which hangs around. A little bit of carbonation at the edges.

Smell. Bright fresh raspberry fruit and skins, hay, funk. There is a light tannin and wine barrel character (wood, vanilla).

Taste. Lots of tart raspberry flavor. Starts a little bit of sweet, then becomes very sour mid palate with raspberry skins, underripe plums and lemon seeds. Finishes dry. A little bit of alcohol or sour burn after the swallow.

Mouthfeel. Medium, the mouthfeel similar to a Belgian lambic. Good amount of prickly carbonation to complement the sourness of the beer.

Overall. This is a really well made beer without any obvious off flavors. I haven't had a fruited sour with golden raspberry and it's nice to see this varietal highlighted. But for my taste it's too sour to want to drink again.

Served On-Tap

A — Pours a nice and bright honey hued gold into the glass, there is a light thin white colored head on it, fades and leaves some spotty lacing.

S — Smells incredible, great tart raspberry, tart cherry, some light funk, but really smells of fantastically fresh and bright golden raspberry.

T — Taste is much like the nose, dominated by fruit and sour, just tastes like chewing on handfuls of golden raspberries.

M — Light in body, dry, refreshing.

O — Very well done, perhaps the best beer from E9 and a really great sour.
