A: Poured into a pitcher a big deep, deep brown with a great big tannish rocky cap, great head retention.

S: Chocolate, roasted malt, some light milky sweetness even.

T: Roasted malt, ccocoa powder with a dash of coffee and faint booze note. The finish is dry, a small bittering lingering presence completes it

M: Roasted, medium carbonation, medium bodied but a wee bit thin I felt

O: A good representation of the style

The E9 makes a pretty damn nice Irish stout. Very dark, as expected with a thick tan head that remained throughout and coated the inside of the glass. There were definite coffee flavors in both the smell and taste. A roasted maltiness also was prominate. Overall the complex aromas and flavors balanced eachother quite nicely and made for a great drink. Very, very smooth and creamy, delicious!

Beautifully presented with nitro bubbles rushing downwards in confused turbulence. Pure opaque with a light toffee aroma and dollops of whipped head and lace. Delivers plenty of dry, coffee flavor with creamy textures contributing to a satiny mouthfeel and high drinkability. The slight, lingering aftertaste is welcome and agreeable.

A fine session stout with enduring flavor. You just can’t argue with a beer like this.
