I had the Roasted Porter at Engine house 9 which I am guessing is this beer, not Mocha Porter.
A - Blackish brown with Garnet highlights and a light brown head that generated moderate lace.

S - Roasted scents dominate this ale's nose. Dark espresso like cocoa rich aromas that get you ready for the taste.

M - Rich, velvety and smooth. Roasted dryness combines with malty roundness.

T - Dark, full flavored -like sweet nutty coffee. Really roasted and smooth like cream with just enough hop essence in the background to balance the sweetness. An excellent blend of roasty, bitter, ever so slightly fruity and sweet.

D - So smooth, so sweet, so...drinkable! It felt like it was gone before I put down the glass. Rich, sweet & malty - like a porter should be.

My first impression wasn't that great, flavors were kind of weak. But then I realized that beer was pretty damn cold and as it warmed up the real essence of the beer was released and I thought it was much, much better. It has a very dark color with a light tan head that didn't stick around too long but left nice lacing. Very strong burnt coffee and chocolate flavors, smooth, yeat a little watery in the mouth. Overall a nice porter, and another E9 gem.

A mellow, almost cask-like brew with a plush, graceful mouthfeel. This Roasted Porter is full-bodied and relaxed and delivers no sharp edges or stray elements. Toasted grains combine with a slight hint of marshmallow to produce an intriguing aroma. The light, frothy head is formed of variably sized bubbles to create an almost “dirty” appearance while trailing gobs of ocean spray lace. The taste is rounded and leaves a breath of smoke on the exhale.

“Mellow” is the key operative here.

This beer pours a dark coffee color with a dark head. It has very little smell with just a light hint of roast. It has a chocolaty coffee taste. It has a creamy very smooth feel with out much of a after taste. For a rich roasted beer this is very drinkable.
