Engine Houses Hefeweizen is a bold, take-no-prisoners hefe built solidly along traditional lines. It is densely yellow-gold and emits a potent clove oil smell. A pleasing though slightly punky undertone also inhabits the aroma. The taste is classic with rolling notes of banana followed by a tart closure. Theres nothing shy or Americanized about this clouded wheat beer, though the orange wedge its served with is superfluous.
I might have appreciated a bit more carbonation or a greater presentation of lace, but this beer otherwise makes a strong showing all around. It also scores an extra notch for tasting not unlike my own hefe.

Cloudy yellow color garnished with a lemon. Sweet malty wheat smell Yeasty wheat flavor with a distinct taste of banana and clove. The beer has a smooth creamy feel that finishes slowly. This is a nicely drinkable beer. Im not a big fan of wheat beers but for a Hefeweizen this was well balanced easy to drink beer for me.
