Poured a deep brown with an amber tinit to it with a small white head. Nose is sweet malt with a caramel backing. Taste was a thinner bodied scottish with a good hop kick and caramel malts. Mouthfeel was sordove faint with caramel, sticky, sweet but taste took a back seat as I found a metallic taste or bitterness in the end.

I had a pint of Scottish ale at Harmon just before heading to Engine House and had theirs fresh on my mind when I arrived. Of the two, Engine Houses Scottish made a greater impression upon me with its malty, fruity taste bound by earthen constraints. It yielded a faint peaty aroma touched by yeasts with a big plump body of brown-red. Clear and dark with ample lace, EH9s Scottish is a nice drinker for the fall season.

This scottish ale had a thin head that left a moderate amount of lacing. Color was a deep dark brown. Aroma was sweet malt with a touch of dried fruit, very nice. Tastes were expected for a scottish ale, rich carmel maltiness but with a touch of hop bitterness to balance it out, but not at all excessive in the hop. Mouthfeel was smooth, rich, and full bodied. Overall a very nice scottish ale that I would have again.
