this didnt jump out at me as one of their better beers, and while i havent had a ton of their stuff, this one didnt quite live up to the level of the others i have had. its a funky wild beer, pale orange in color and lively headed from the tap, with a nose of white grape, dried apricot, and musty woody funk. the brett in the flavor is kind of weird though, almost astringent but also young at the same time, a little stinky and unclean, sort of a licking a battery thing happening on the tongue too. there is also a bacterial element which is a little more refined, tart without being super acidic, lemony, candied, and prickly. the grain base is simple, leaves a little sweetness, and has plenty of body, nice with the higher carbonation. its really the brett profile that throws me off here, perhaps its a little young, and will clean itself up over time, but for now its a little bit amateurish to me, which is not something i have known from these guys in the past. i would be curious to hear what others thing about this one. finish is piquant, pears, oak, and weird brett. i hope to revisit this one after it has had a little more time to evolve...
