Barrel fermented wild ale with montmorency and bing cherries. Multiple year barrel blend of our house wild ale mixed culture aged for two months on a mix of montmorency and bing cherries grown by our dear friend Bill Clark from Diamondback Acres in Chelan, Washington. Brilliant pink hue in appearance with tart pie cherry aromatics. Balanced acidity with a nice dry finish.

Pours a dirty reddish orange with a vibrant head that builds fast and dissipates just as quickly.

Bursting with tart Cherry aromas. A little lemony note sneaks in too. A hint of funkiness as well.

Quite acidic. Tart Cherry, light funk. Good.

The body is light and effervescent.

This is a nice Cherry wild ale.

this is so insanely good, oh my gosh! like lambic, which some of these have been, but not all of them, and i dont really know how to tell, some more like saison, some overly sour, some like this woody and mature and fully wild, its heaven, and even stands out above the balaton farmhouse i had adjacent to it, equally cherry driven, but the fermentation profile on this is divine, super well developed, and something i wont soon forget! perhaps the best of all their beers i had this past weekend, which is really saying something. bright pink to rose red in the glass, a tad less than clear but almost back lit looking and radiant, short pink head on it settles back to patches. the aroma is striking, lambic funk, minerals and iodine, raw wheat, wet earth, piquant fruit, natural as can be, lots of oak, a vinous element, my mouth waters profusely! the flavor is just as good, and cherries, bold as they are, are only part of the equation here. there is a bretty wildness to it, a lactic lemony pucker, plenty of mellowing oak, but a freshness to the fruit too among all the maturity, a hint of alcohol somehow too which i like in this context, a little bit from the dry grain, and then finally a fast finish with a little recall on the swallow. its bubbly but not super excited from the tap, the acidity is exactly right, and this does drink like high end kriek. an astonishingly good beer, i love how dynamic it is, how authentically old world and modern at the same time, cannot say enough about this. among my favorite of all their beers i have ever had, truly!

Orange active body with red tinting, thin white ring. Aromas of tart and sweet cherry, lemon, slight brown sugar, lots of oak, grass, slight funk and lacto. Taste is wicked acidic with the tart cherries dominating the sweet cherry flavors, with plenty of wood, wild yeast, slight brett, descriptive funk, and subtle flowers. Feel is a heartburn waiting to happen: acidic, tart, sour, woody and funky while moving bright. Get your tart cherry fix here!

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a lovely semi-bright with a chill hazy burnt orange to pink color. Small cap of a little white foamy head slid off as expected. Concave lace douses the sides of my glass.
The aroma had some sweet bing cherries, subtle lemon pulp, sweet woody barrel, cherry wood sweetness, ample tart cherry skin and a little bit of grassiness.
The flavor leaned towards the sour end initially but brought in some of the sweet to tart character I expected for what I read on the label. Lean cherry sweet to tart skinned aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, perhaps just a touch under with a keen sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good. Light stickiness and a touch of sour harshness. Finishes semi-sour through mostly the cherries.
Overall, if there ever was a fruited sour ale that truly seemed like freshly plucked cherries and then squeezed the life right out of them, I would say this beer would be that example.
