Clear golden amber of a darker shade, with adequate foam in the Brigand chalice. Smooth and malty with a crisp edge. Pleasing aroma of bread and straw with an herbal note. Highly drinkable with a warm, substantial mouthfeel and just enough tangy hops. Just that slight malty sweetness and a resiny aftertaste. A better than average German-style Lager. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Not dated but a QR code on the label.

 

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that gradually died down and left a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of grassy hops are present in the nose along with underlying notes of bready and cracker malts.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the malty flavors are stronger and stand in front of those of the hops. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and very clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. The finish has a touch of dryness.
O: I thought that this pilsner had a nice dose of hops that didn't overpower the beer but kept it from being overly malty and added a nice amount of bitterness.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, this was a clear, golden amber, with a decent sized off-white head. Said head dropped somewhat quickly but left a good amount of lace.

Soft, floral and herbal hoppiness in the nose, along with a crackery maltiness.

Nice, mildly herbal and grassy hoppiness, with the crackery malts more prominent on the back end. Mildly dry at the swallow.

Fairly light bodied, with a light, soft, modestly crisp mouthfeel.

Nice pils. Not the best I've had, but far from the worst. I'd definitely drink one again.

Light gold, crystal clear with light head. First pour releases a pleasant malty-yeasty essence, exactly like a good German beer would do. Well rounded, pleasnt bitterness, no flaws in the aftertaste.

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Clear golden body with a small cap of white head. malty, bready aroma, grassy.Taste is more crisp , clean grains, nice sharp bite from the hops at the finish. Nice pils.

a very light and well refined pils here, affordable and true to style, a nice beer overall. it has a lot of similarities to their kolsch, which i had a couple of weeks ago, but seems lighter, not sure if it should be the other way around with these styles or not, but this is notably lighter and even more easy drinking than their fairly robust kolsch, same malt profile though and not way different on the hops, fresh but also quintessentially european to me. this is super clear and glassy and shiny, holds over two inched of airy white head in a pils glass, and really sparkles with carbonation both visually and in the texture. not a ton of hops to this, slightly grassy to me, noble and fitting, but understated a little bit. the yeast dries this out nicely and imparts a mild white bread complexion, all the elements are in great balance here and the beer is exceedingly fresh. its somewhat unexciting, but thats what true to style beer can often be with the pale lagers. its drinkable, well made, and a nice start to the weekend. no complaints, but certainly not the most interesting beer these guys brew. short of very crisp, but it refreshes and hits the mark. professional for sure.
