Appearance is on the hazy side, the brewery chalks up to the British ale yeast. Plenty of foam and a sudsy mouthfeel. Unknown hops but very sweet and fruity. Tastes hugely of orange with a pineapple finish and leafy, herbal accents. Smooth, quite sweet, and hugely aromatic with citrus and peach with whiffs of pine and plum.

Overall it drinks more like a NE style big IPA, but less acidic. Slippery mouthfeel with some astringency in the aftertaste. From the 16 oz can purchased at Central Market in Mill Creek. No obvious dating.

16oz can

Pours nearly 3 fingers of super fluffy white head into my willi becher glass. Retention is wonderful so far, only losing a finger after a few minutes. Initial lacing looks really nice as well. Body is orange, hazy, with a medium-low amount of bubbles coming up. Looks very nice so far.

Nose is very citrusy, primarily orange, a little rind, some zest. Maybe the smallest pineapple. Smells on the sweeter side, but not cloying, pretty clean and bright. Somewhat one dimensional, but smells refreshing and pretty nice overall.

Flavor is pretty similar. Orange is pretty subtle, but lingers in the background most of the way. I’ll let this warm, for now this is ok, nothing special.

Carbonation is medium-low. Body is lightish. Not all that bitter. Sugars are definitely noticeable, they linger a little bit, but overall this drinks pretty smooth. A little alcohol as well, but it’s not abrasive. Not bad, maybe a tiny bit sweet, but that is to be somewhat expected with a double; overall pretty clean.

Drinkability is pretty good for 8% you taste the sugar and alcohol, but it doesn’t really slow you down.

Appearance turned out quite nice. A resilient head and solid lacing.

Overall this is fine, straight forward.

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Golden pour, light cloudiness, tight white cap of head. Aroma is bready, oranges. Taste adds a hint of caramel, light sweetness, fruity flavors followed by a sticky bitter bite. Medium weight, full.
