Modest haze in the yellow amber brew with lots of foam in the Kasteel chalice. Supposed to be brewed with Galaxy and Waimea hops. Aroma of fermenting pineapple and alfalfa with a whiff of citrus. Tastes of green melon, orange, and maybe even fresh green peas. Grapefruit and unripe papaya finish. Just a little bitterness and some acidity.
Double dry-hopped with E9's favorite "slightly hazy British ale yeast." This is more like the Brut IPAs I have been missing. Lush and lively with a friendly drinkability. One of my favorite IPAs this year. From the 16 oz can purchased at Central Market.

16 oz can from Brewers Haven. Cloudy yellow, small creamy head. Faint fruity, citrus aroma. Taste balances bready malts and light citrus peels. Light on the palate with a small lingering bitterness.

Pint can served in a nonic glass. No can dating.
Look- Hazy light orange juice color, large off-white head that slowly recedes to a thick cap of foam, ample sticky lacing. No carbonation streaming visible as it sits.
Smell- Tropical fruit (pineapple and mango), citrus (orange/tangerine and lemon), some light coconut and peach skin, doughy malt, grassy/herbal notes.
Taste- Citrus and tropical fruit, coconut and peach, bready malt, light grassy herbal hop notes.
Feel- Medium bodied, soft and sticky sweet up front with a light lingering bitterness, well balanced. Moderate/light carbonation on the tongue.
O- Pretty nice overall, but not as good as most of their newer offerings.

another very well made and highly fresh can of ipa from these guys with colorful but minimalist labeling, they never tell you what the hops are either it seems, but i keep buying these because they have all been so tasty. this is of fine quality, but the hop profile is a little less compelling for my personal tastes than a lot of the others have been. the beer is pale straw yellow with light and uniform haze, a tall white head, and great carbonation. it smells a little earthy and muted, perhaps a little southern hemisphere hop fruitiness to it, but this isnt overly robust to me at all, and not real distinctive either. the flavor has a weird earthy depth to it, like there is an almost graphite sort of minerality to it, some light citrus and melon from the hops too, and even more bitterness than some of the others have had, which is unexpected but not unwelcome, but overall this doesnt seem as distinctive as i have gotten used to from these guys. soft and creamy feel, likely wheat based, nice, but the hops dont have the bursting dry hop character most of them do, and while this does warm up favorably with lemongrass and even coconut notes, the hops seem sort of behind the scenes most of the way. a quality beer, perhaps even likely to be someones favorite of these, but for me this one was not a standout in their impressive lineup of hoppy beers.
