this one started off a little muted to me, like it wasnt as robust as many of the others have been that i have recently enjoyed, but it almost immediately opens up, even without really coming up to temperature much, tropical and bright, fresh as can be, maybe not their most interesting, but another real well made and highly drinkable ipa from these guys, slightly hazy but not exactly a new england type, some bitterness here, more than just dry hopping, and without any real heft to the grain. the aroma is sweet orange, a little generic citrus in there, and coconut candy, even those cream soda lollipops you used to get at the bank pushing through the thick and high white head. the flavor is grounded only a little by a bit of sweetness to the malt, a honey note, but clean throughout, balancing more bitterness than others of theirs have had, lingering with some pine to it, good hop depth, fruit before dank, but certainly both, coconut carrying through, now more bitter than sweet citrus, highly fresh, well made, clean on the ferment, and nicely carbonated. with so many hoppy beers in the portfolio, a few of them do run a little bit together, but i dont necessarily think thats a bad thing. if it is a good ipa you seek, chances are you will find it in a can from these guys, regardless of what it is, each of these in isolation is terrific.
