a sturdy and hoppy export lager here, nicely done, super fresh, love when american brewers do this style because of the freshness, this is still traditional and german, but robust as they go, an awesome drinker for a beer guy, nice proportions, still european on the grain side and with the german lager yeast, but lots of flavor here. the color is bright, the head is high, and the prominent carbonation is on point for his. the lagering is patient and crisp, the beer is dry overall, and i find it refreshing without being boring, which is hard to do. the hops are killer too, strong in terms of dosage but very much noble type with some spiciness and grassy character to them, relatively bitter, especially for these guys, who usually keep this element pretty minimal in their lagers, at least in my experience. no greenness or bite, but they definitely stand out through most of this. i like the lager yeast here, i like the boldness overall of the recipe, and i like that this is hop forward but still old worldy overall. another very well made beer from these guys, the beat goes on!
