a slightly hazy and really modern pale ale done in collaboration with fast fashion, who i am unfamiliar with. this is done with phantasm, which is a new product derived from grapes, added to beer in powder form from what i understand, designed to increase tropical fruitiness in aroma flavor, not sure how i feel about it, much as i love this beer. its an interesting idea, and the science is cool, but i am not in love with random non traditional ingredients like this, naturally derived or not, it still seems weird, i wish i knew more about it when i was drinking this beer so i could consider its impact, but this just sort of seemed like southern hemisphere hops on steroids, nelson or galaxy or something like that, not sure what they used, but they pop like crazy in the nose with melon, passion fruit, kiwi, and pink grapefruit, while the flavor delivers white wine grape, white peach nectar, cut flowers, and green gooseberries, tropical and summery and more intense than most, almost a terpene weedy thing, but lighter than those types of beers have been in my experience, like intense while also being delicate, pretty cool. this is a real well made pale ale, minimal on the grain side, maybe some wheat but its dry as a bone and light in body. smarties candy, sweet orange, cantaloupe through the finish. drippy and juicy but super light to drink. maybe this works on hops like salt enhancing food, i dont know, but i am sure it will be in every ipa before too long. looking forward to learning more about it, and in the meantime, id like another one of these please, a delicious and distinctive pale ale here, wicked hop profile!
