wildly unique table beer here, glad to have found this on tap. despite liking pretty much everything these guys do, its the funky ones that set me off the most, this rules! i love it being so low alcohol yet exceedingly complex, a rare combination to be sure. pale yellow beer not quite clear and fizzy but not holding a huge head or anything, look sort of unassuming, especially in the shaker pint this weirdly got served to me in, definitely not ideal glassware, but this one is build for speed a little bit, so its all good. apparently its a blend, and the second runnings of the lambic mash seem obvious, raw wheat for sure in this, neat earthy grain base, light but full of character. the nose is all about the brett though, supreme funk to this, and its mature for the rest of it being so light and lively, wet animal, old grass clippings, are there aged hops in this too? a light belgian yeast ester to me, pear and white wine, some light tang too, and the second use peaches and nectarines come out more as it warms, never sweet but identifiable still, ripe and seemingly with a lot to give. the brett is most forward in the flavor, and the acidity is real low, its farmy and rustic to me, and the lambic wort portion of this is evident too, wheaty and dry, very organic seeming, mineral forward, faintly nutty at temperature. the fruit is secondary, just part of the mix of esters and fermentation notes, along with the stone fruit i get green and white grapes, lemon hard candy, and dried herbs. funky to finish, crackling dry, and definitely carbonated to the max, which makes this dance on the palate. really tasty beer, a cool blend, an all day drinker, interesting on a number of levels, so thoughtful and good, even if its more summer than winter. e9 slays!
