Most stouts look the same to me, but this one stands out due to its dense deep tan colored head with excellent retention and lacing. A very good looking beer. Aroma is rich and chocolate, with plenty of coffee roast.
Taste is much more coffee forward than the nose. Plenty of bitter, dark roast greets the initial sip. Some malty sweetness sneaks through here and there, but this is very clearly a coffee beer. Not quite as viscous as I thought it would be.
Overall, very tasty beer.

From a 16oz can
Thick looking pitch black pour. The head is tan. Decent retention, but no lacing on the glass.
The aroma is a bourbon barrel bomb. That is the main aroma. I also get notes of coffee and some chocolate.
Taste - there is some barrel in the flavor, but way less than the nose let on. There's a great hit of coffee backed up by chocolate.
Thick body. Very smooth feeling with a bit of a burn.
Tasty treat here.

Wonderful aroma, although it lacks in complexity and barrel presence - especially for a beer aged in three different whiskey barrels. Neutrally boozy, along with notes of coffee, toast, raisin, red grape, and light char.
Tasting notes are very similar, although there is some more presence from the barrels, including oak and a slight sweetness. Still, this isn't a particularly rich barrel presence. Very balanced. Tasting notes of effervescent, neutral alcohol, coffee, prune, toast, caramel, molasses, and bitter chocolate.
Very tasty beer, but I'd prefer a richer overall experience. It almost comes across thin in terms of flavor (but not feel).

Exoteron – from E9 Brewing. Received in a retaliatory ninja strike from @snaotheus. Reviewed 05/06/24 (Review 3288). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on top rim “02/2?/2024. Stored at 39 degrees at home. Served at 57.3 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 61.7 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Deep Brown (SRM 30), nearly opaque.
Body – Black (SRM 40), opaque. Under direct light, same. Rear lite, same with weak red amber at the edges.
Head – Average (Maximum 2.4 cm, aggressive center pour), chestnut, high density, leaving a 0.25 cm crown fed by carbonation and a thin partial cap.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 4.25 – Coffee. No yeast, no hops, no alcohol (10 % ABV as marked on the can). However, as it warms more, some bourbon begins to appear.
Flavor – 4.5 – Begins faintly sweet with chocolate and a lot of coffee. Not really detecting any bourbon or barrel on the initial taste. No yeast, no hops, no alcohol. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Slight gastric warming. Ends with mildly bitter coffee and a hint of bourbon.
Palate – 4 – Medium; slightly creamy; soft carbonation.
Final Impression and summation: 4.25 While coffee dominates, the bourbon manages to sneak through in both aroma and taste at the higher temperatures.
