Highly decadent collaboration brew with our buddies from Fort George Brewery. An imperial stout aged for a year in Russell’s Reserve 10yr barrels. Lightly kissed with cacao nibs and vanilla to round out this chocolate cake in a can!!

In the mood for something sweet and this definitely is! The cacao nibs are out in full force here, every inch of this is just dripping with chocolate. What kind? I want to say lava cake primarily, oozy and sticky sweet. At the finish some faint bourbon and a little vanilla emerge but they still play second fiddle to the chocolate. Not something I want often but it scratched my itch tonight. Thanks Ryan!

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a quarter finger milk chocolate head that dissipates to broad patches with nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, bakers and dark chocolate, mild dried plum and light bourbon. Flavor is dark toasted malt with slight char, bakers chocolate, chocolate truffle, light bourbon; long lingering finish of quality chocolate. Medium bodied with moderate to thick creaminess. Aptly named, this one is all about chocolate and has some of the best real chocolate character I can remember from using nibs; tastes like a chocolate bar was melted into it. The bourbon takes a back seat, but has a light presence that adds some interest. I hesitated buying this because it looked like it would be a sugar bomb, but, while sweet, it is fairly restrained like bakers chocolate. I found the sweetness level to be near perfect for my palette. Over the top fine creamy body and looks great too, very chocolatey pour. I'll definitely be watching for this again. A worthy collab from two fine breweries. Well done.
