Light gold and shimmering, Go Left continues the riff on our West Coast IPA / old-school video game theme, this time featuring Zork! Go Left is a wonderfully balanced West Coast IPA with grapefruit, pine, and overripe pineapple character.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a moderately hazy, light to medium golden amber with a two finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt with light caramel, citrus and dank hops, grapefruit, catty dankness and hints of pine. Flavor is pale malt, dank and citrus hops, grapefruit, hints of tropical fruit, pine and lemon; herbal dankness. Citrus rind bitter finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. My kind of East Coast IPA; moderately hazy, but with solid bitterness and West Coast leaning citrus and faint pine hops. Somewhat simple hop bill, mostly grapefruit, but some other light flavors to keep things interesting. Enjoyable.

A: The beer is slightly hazy and a bit pale yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that quickly settled down, leaving a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of grapefruit and pineapple are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, and the grapefruit flavors don't really have an acidic nature to them. Little to no bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and surprisingly clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is like liquid hop juice and has a mouthfeel that is more reminiscent of an IPL instead of an IPA. I found this to be very enjoyable.
