This one pours a medium dark brown, with a small head, and lots of lacing. It looks like a polotmavy, not an actual tmave – it’s just too light.
This smells toasty, but I’d want a bit more chocolate or roast character for the style.
I don’t really hate this one, but it feels pretty sideways of the style, with too much sweetness, and not enough “darkness” so to speak – barely any roast, and no chocolate at all.
This is light bodied, slightly creamy, and but with not enough bite on the end.
This tastes basically alright, but it’s not really to style at all, which is a bummer, because I love this style.

On draft at the brewery. Drank it too quick to do a proper review, but this was a very good adaptation of a beloved style. In particular I would recommend it for those who cherish dark ales but occasionally love the refreshing, crisp character of a Czech lager. This beer encompasses the best of both worlds albeit without much roast to speak of. It's kind of like a lager that was left in the oven too long; but not *too too* long.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
