this is one of the sneakiest big ipa types ive had in a long time, pint cans are a dangerous format for this thing, it can really sneak up on you, well hidden alcohol even at temperature, and without the heavy body, residual sugar, or over the top green hoppiness that a lot of these have as warming flags. this one is modern, unique, smooth, and well enough refined to slip under the radar, definitely look out! amazing how juicy this is, some generic malt sweetness yeah, its moderate, even a honey note to it, and some body too, but its not huge, all seem to help support this big hop profile, drippy ripe cantaloupe, fresh peeled tangerine, pineapple candy, a little bit of green bud, and an impressive cohesiveness, really fresh and appealing in the nose. the taste is there too, melon and citrus, key lime, cut flowers, and a very long flavor trajectory overall. there is a little bite but without much bitterness it doesnt hit that hard, and the sweetness softens the finish. the grain doesnt taste like much but its balancing act is impressive. the ferment too is sort of curiously invisible here, this is quite professional and well put together. surprised how drinkable this actually is, among the better hoppy beers ive had from bonds overall, and definitely one that caught up to me a little bit. cool can art, cool beer!
