Poured from an undated 16 oz. can: bright copper hue with a slowly dissipating beige head. Some intricate lacing on the glass contributed to an attractive pour.
The aroma was faintly spicy with a hint of fresh tea.
Now, this is a rather unique attempt at an ESB in that the flavor profile is predominantly bitter with a consistently roasted coffee taste. What it lacks is the rounded mouthfeel of complex malt to balance the hop profile. The body is also too thin for the style with a short-lived bitter aftertaste.
This is far from my favorite ESB, but I am always willing to try a local (Florida) beer. The brewery states on the can that it collaborated with Winter Park Biscuit Company. What did Winter Park Biscuit contribute to the brewing process, I do not know.
