Pours a crystal clear golden copper in color with a finger thick white, frothy foam which subsides to a thin, sudsy layer atop. Plenty of lacing as you drink. Carbonation looks a tick below average with a few large bubbles rising up from the bottom of the glass. Pretty classic look for a German pilsner.

Lots of grass and lemon on the nose with a bready malt backbone. A little bit of herbal tea to round it out. A pretty spot on aroma for the style.

Taste follows the nose well. Pretty balanced up front with spicy, grassy, lemony hoppiness and a great toasted, buttery maltiness. The bitterness comes in as it sits on the tongue and into the swallow with lemon rind and grassiness and a hint of spice. A touch soapy. Maybe a bit of wood. The hops linger on the tongue well after the swallow, turning almost a bit piney, but also a lot of lemon rind. Nicely balanced overall, but decidedly bitter ultimately.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a creamy body and zesty carbonation. Finishes very dry and coats the tongue a bit. A very pleasing and drinkable mouthfeel which is very appropriate for the style.

This is a very fine German pilsner. I think it is perhaps more pungent than the ones I've had from Germany, especially in terms of the hop bitterness, though it could also just be that I've had it more fresh. In any case, it's very spot on for the style and very well brewed. This is quality stuff. Cheers!

pours a hazy dark yellow body with a cream-colored frothy foam head that has moderate retention with occasional splattered lacing left behind as it settles to a thin murky cap with thick defined halo

aroma is sweet and malty with a tinge of earthy woodiness and green yet dry hop bitterness

taste follows the nose. it's a semi-sweet lagered malt that feels rustic and slightly toasted with an oaky woody robustness to it and a somewhat green hop tinge that fades to a dried grass hop note at the end

mouthfeel is high carbonation and medium-light bodied, running pillowed with low-grade crisp to it before finishing dry and leaving a subtly sweet lager malt and dry hop aftertaste

overall:
a super rustic and malty feeling lager that brings a nice subtle earthy woodiness along with it along with a green grass/dry grass contrast within a single sip. equal parts complex and simply enjoyable, and if you long for a malty lager, look no further. I can taste a nice snapshot of the seasons here, from spring to fall anyway.

Poured slightly hazy pale yellow with a decent head but little lacing.

Straw and dry desert grasses come to mind. Pretty dry. Oak aging is fairly apparent but not overwhelming.

Overall it's a pretty good pils.

16oz can with no freshness dating. Opened 9-18-21.
Can conditioned and lagered in oak.
1+ finger head with very good retention...holds fast at 1/4" solid cap. Plenty of sticky lacing early.
Straw golden and a touch cloudy.
The nose is full of herbal, grassy, spicy hops...very nice aroma with some sweet malt and just a light hit of sulfur.
Wonderful spicy/herbal hoppiness, a nice minerality, and outstanding drinkability in this full-flavored pilsner.
Medium body and carbonation with a close to crisp mouthfeel. Some prickly bitterness that lingers in a flavorful and ultimately dry finish. Great surprise.
Very Good to Outstanding (closer to Outstanding).
