A fitting tribute to the Alabama craft beer community and the state's bi-centennial, the 2019 Alabama Brewers Guild collaboration beer is a sensory celebration — golden, honey-colored with a vibrant, deeply floral, fruity nose, Bitter Constituent is rounded and soft on the palate. The intensely dry, bitter finish of this medium-bodied IPA makes it a great compliment to pork & apples, Cajun shrimp or cheese grits.

Nice golden color, deep but with a great natural hue. Off the tap line the carb is suspiciously absent, with only thin bubbles rising lazily to the top.
The nose is sweet and fruity without much hop presence. Some mild floral qualities, but a clear predominance of tropical fruit and a sweet malt bill.
Flavors start hoppy, much more noticeable than on the nose. More of that sweetness that was found on the nose, along with a subtle but present maltiness on the backbone. Very well balanced. Mildly bitter finish.
A Crisp, clean beer. Smooth and light-bodied, with a mouthfeel ranking closer to a lower-carbed German pils than an IPA. Not a detriment by any means, a very solid beer.
