Pours to a deep bronze. Tan head that goes away quick. Great color. Nice caramel malt smell. Taste is disappointing. Watery and flat. No upfront sweetness or tail end hopping. Not very good. If I had some bratwurst I would use this to cook them.

Bought at Total (my best source while in Naples, Florida... and actually one of the best stores I've ever visited and it seems to get better each time I scrounge its shelves.)

La Cumbrecita is mountain village in Argentina's #2 state, Cordoba. It gets snow and, I'll assume, resembles the Bavarian Alps. Hence the pretense for this good, but slightly better than average O-Fest. It opens even below that. As an O-Fest has to Look more than amber/copper; which Lacumbrecita does, but, then, also needs more foam and clarity. Smells are average: sweet malt, but not much else to stimulate my nose. Tastes are slightly better, but the finish lacks the drying hops of a good O-fest. In the mouth, light to maybe medium and the bubbles are sufficient... so at least the yeast is not too lazy.

For my micro-review... Penon del Aguila gets lots of points for trying to follow the whole mountain resort including beer that Bavaria established. There is a whole website for the resort. For the beer website, unfortunately, I could not find the English button... and while I used to read Spanish, it was literature I read 50 years ago and it was written in Spain four centuries ago... not marketing for cerveza. So I spent about 10 minutes on the site and got mentally fatigued... but I saw enough to see that they are trying hard and probably will succeed despite the horrendous shape of Argentina's economy. Pero amigos... por favor installar un button de ingles. Gracias y Salud !
